Somali Archery Federation is the national governing body for the sport of Archery in Somalia. The Federation is responsible for the development and promotion of Archery in Somalia. World Archery Africa (WAAf) organized a Beginner Archery Coaches’ Course in partnership with the Somali Archery Federation (SAF) from 27th July to 1st August 2024. The course was held in Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia, The training ceremony has opened the president of Somali Archergy Federation Mr. Abdullahi Abow Hussein under the supervision of coach trainer Djaafer Serir, Algeria and coordinated by Ahmed Helmy Mohamed Elsaid Koura, Egypt, following its archery development plan in Africa for the year 2024. Somali archery since its establishment in 2006 stood up for the support of those who has a passion for archery as well as creating hope for the young generation during the difficulties in political and security circumstances in the country. Sports activities including archery was the only bright news from this war-torn state as youth interested much and showed resilience to loss of hope.

On the 18 January 2024 competition archery clubs in Afgoye district Lowershabelle Region has been started the ABOW stadium in Afgoye. The competition of eleven clubs (11 clubs) are now on going in the  lower shabelle region districts in Afgoye.     PHOTOS
