Archery is one of the most popular cultural sports in Somalia’s urban and rural areas. It is mostly perceived as a sign of bravery as earlier warriors used to fight with sword and archery. Archery is also a sign of independence as hunting and defending animals from predators were common. Archery is apart from being a popular sport, is also part of the preserving thetraditional culture, raising children with the Somali culture, and creating skilled athletes capable of competing regionally as well as globally.
